A series of letters between Sir Henry McMahon (British High Commissioner in Egypt) and Sharif Hussein of Mecca. Britain implied support for an independent Arab state (including Palestine – was later disputed) in exchange for an Arab revolt against the Ottoman Empire during WWI.
